Pottery

My friend Laurel and I took a pottery class together at the Dougherty Arts Center (thank you Sarah!). These are a few of the pieces of mine that made it through the kiln. I'll be able to finish the others in a week or so. The two little things in the front are supposed to be salt and pepper shakers with little corks on the top. But, like an idiot, I forgot to put holes in them before I fired them... so we'll see what they become. My favorite is the cup but the bottom isn't flat so it wobbles, booooo.

Laurel and I went in on a wheel together and here is my first creation! Geoff is going to freak when he's sees what i'm doing with his garage! That's what he gets for being out of town all the time.

latest quilt project for Mimi's birthday

I made Geoff's mom a log cabin quilt out of Kaffe Fassett's book Kaleidoscope of Quilts. They have a cabin in New Mexico so I thought this would make for a good birthday present. See the picture below for the quilting details.
