My first garment!

Check out the first garment I've sewn. It's a pattern by Amy Butler called the Cabo Halter. The fabric is also by Amy Butler. I only had to rip it apart three times to get it to fit right =)

Bag for my seester Sierra

This bag is the "Weekender Bag" by Amy Butler. The fabric is also by Amy Butler. It's about the size of a large tote bag. It was pretty easy to make; just a little tough to sew the corners since they were very thick. I'm excited to have finally made something for Sierra that is just for her (and machine washable, whew). She's my snoo bear and I love her so much!

B Dawg in the House

My BFF from grad school, Brent, is now a professor at Southern Methodist University in Dallas in the Chemistry department. Check out his webpage.

Macromolecules, the top journal in the area of polymer chemistry, recently published a list of the most cited articles in 2007. Guess whose paper was #1? (pretty amazing) AND, Macromolecules also publishes a list of "hot papers" every month which are articles that have been cited the most over the past two months. Last November 3 of Brent's papers were in the top 4. (pretty amazing again!)

I also need to brag about my friend from W&M, Anne, who is now a professor at the University of Michigan in the Chemistry Department. Check out her website. She got her PhD at Cornell and then did a post-doc at MIT, talk about a smarty pants!

Aubry is very excited about the prospect of tasting this swimmy diaper... within seconds of this shot it is in her mouth and she's shaking it around like a dog with a chew toy. Ok, not really, but she did have it in her mouth.

What a cute little baby Grey lifted from the store! Mommy lost her "mother of the year award" when Grey hit the carpet with this thing and spilled Aubry on the floor. Oops.

Pam's birthday quilt

I made Pam a quilt for her birthday. It was from The Modern Quilt Workshop by Weeks and Kerr at Funquilts. The pattern is called "Marquee." It was fun to make and the first queen-sized one i've tried. Pam gave Geoff and I a purple quilt (that she hand quilted!) for our wedding gift. It's such a blessing to receive something that has so much work and love put into it. I tried to return the much-deserved blessing.

Sierra and Malia's visit... back at the crib

After Sea World and San Antonio we chilled at the house and enjoyed a few days of relaxing and soaking up each other's company. Grey and Malia worked on a few art projects...

The birthday girl! She turned 6 years old, and did not finish that cupcake. What kind of kid does that? Auntie Quinn finished it off, no problem.

Easter at Sarah's

We went to Sarah's house for our second annual easter egg hunt. Heather, Cory, Aidan and Julia were there with Sarah and Bear and the Smiffs and Balls.
