WPW

When Jude was 18 days old we noticed that he was breathing quickly. A day and half later he was still breathing rapidly and not eating. I took him to the doctor where I was told he was in SVT, supraventricular tachycardia. His heartbeat was over 300 beats per minute. That's more than 5 beats per second! The doctor said it was too fast to count. We ended up in the hospital via ambulance where he was diagnosed with Wolff Parkinson White Syndrome (WPW). WPW happens when a person has an additional electrical pathway in their heart that allows it to get into fast beating cycles (SVT). We have been to a cardiologist that said he would likely outgrow WPW by age 1 (yay!). For now he is on a heart medication.

Jude after his heartbeat was brought back to normal. He was very puffy from the IV fluids. His eyelids looked like they were going to pop!

On the heart monitor. His arms were taped like crazy to keep the IV's in. He was a real trooper!

At the cardiologist's office after getting an EKG. Getting chunky!
